Home again, safe and sound. I had a wonderful time waiting around in airports for 2, 5, 12 hours at a time, but all good things, etc., you know? I feel like a snob saying things like "yeah, in Hong Kong" or "in Singapore", because really, I just saw the airports and they looked identical to each other (actually Hong Kong reminded me a lot of Detroit's Northwest terminal- Singapore sucked, on the other hand). I had a $3 can of Diet Coke in Hong Kong; had sushi at 4 AM, willing my eyes to stay open so I wouldn't miss the soy sauce; and ate at one of the most popular restaurants in the Singapore airport- Burger King.
But now it's all over, and the crippling jet-lag has set in. I had the most intense tiredness of my life yesterday, which meant I only got through the first quarter of the Super Bowl at Jason's before having to have Erin drive me home. The only thing more annoying than going to sleep at 7:15 PM is waking up at 11:30 not tired anymore. I took an ambien at that point, the last one, and was dismayed to wake up at 3:30 AM. I managed to get more sleep, but not the best quality.
I'm just happy to be home, though I miss the warm weather, energizing sun-induced Vitamin D infusions, and refreshing natural beauty of Malaysia.
