The first dish was a not-very-adventurous penne with marinara, to which I added boca beef, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. My sister helped me polish this off (though there was a bit left for lunch the next day) while we watched Masterpiece Theatre's version of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility (my favorite book by that author).
On Saturday I decided to be slightly more adventurous and purchased the necessary items for a shrimp curry. Instead of pre-cooked shrimp, I decided on the raw kind, in order to perhaps give them a closer-to-curry flavor than if I had just thrown them in at the last minute. Harold, who seems to have considerable gastronomical instincts, came by and instructed me in the proper method for shelling and de-veining the shrimp (which raw were quite odorous). Then, in they went, with some olive oil, fresh-pressed garlic, and curry paste.

Jasmine rice is excellent to have with any Indian dish. The trick is to cook it with a bit of olive oil (my personal panacea) to keep it from sticking and to give it a bit more flavor.

Once the shrimp was cooked well enough (I'm happy to report no food poisoning), the vegetables were tossed in (broccoli, zucchini, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms).

Once dinner was finished (and it turned out quite well) we played some Halo 3 on Harold's XBox 360. I've never heard so many twelve-year-olds screaming "fuck" in my life.
This morning I decided to skip breakfast and ended up waiting to eat until about an hour ago when I decided I wanted a tuna melt. After getting a nice loaf of bread, a gorgeous ripe tomato, and a can of tuna from Horrock's, I ended up with a nice baked sandwich seen here.

Luckily it seems I have plenty of kitteh help finishing it; otherwise I don't know how I'd manage.
Erin is getting back tonight, sometime after a whirlwind Ikea shopping spree, so I'm not sure yet what is for dinner. But rest assured, Internets, it will be something awesome.
