I took this from behind the glass, in the hallway in front of the room where I sit to work. This lady had apparently come to watch us- safely of course- in something at least simulating our natural environment. After paying the admission fee, she must certainly have felt cheated; our mundane, soulless rituals were disappointingly contrary to what she was led to believe and deep down wanted to believe.
I picture her growing bored with the experience, rifling through the gift shop and eventually taking wing, concerned now wholly with the far off pond, the little river, and the shade under the tall grass on the muddy bank.

i love it. i hope she finds something worthwhile in the gift shop. so many times we just pick up a trinket just for the sake of having something.
