Cheesblog: dubliner

The second installment of my personal cheese-tasting journey of self-discovery takes us to Ireland, my (main, anyway) ancestral home. The cheese is Dubliner:

I liked this cheese: a lot. It's a great cheddar-ish cheese, moderately strong and balanced. The texture is perfect for eating with bread or crackers, and the flavor is just strong enough to be delicious but not too strong that you can't eat it in larger bites. There seemed to be more of a roundness to this cheese than to most cheddars, which I think may be what the link above calls "nuttiness".

The price was right on this too, around $5 if I recall correctly for a moderate sized square. I would heartily recommend it if you're looking for something to have as a light lunch or breakfast with some fruit and crackers.
