Open call for advice

So I'm pretty sure I need new running shoes. The ones I have are several years old and as a result of the wear I'm not maintaining proper form. I know this because my knees, unused to running 18 miles a week, are beginning to hurt.

When I lived in Boston they had a store that catered entirely to runners. The staff there could analyze your level of pronation and suggest you the proper shoe (some "models" have more support than others) and insert (if necessary) to achieve just the right balance.

I loved the shoes I got there and in my haphazard college days regrettably destroyed them playing basketball (running shoes FAIL at lateral movement). I may just need a new pair, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a store in the area that might offer similar services and a wide variety of running shoes? Granted, GR isn't as crazy as Boston when it comes to running (seriously, it's insane there- people run all winter), but there do seem to be quite a few runners in East, and where demand exists perhaps the free-ish markets have graced us with a supplier.

So if you have any suggestions, please post them in the comments! If you know any die-hard runners, ask them for me! Jessica, where does your dad get his running shoes?

Unrelated to this post: you have some of the funniest Twitter updates I've ever read! The cat-anus hand-brush incident is a good example.

ok, so my dad gets his running shoes at a store on alpine (near 6 mile) called The Runnery. He said you don't have to go in knowing what you want, you just tell them how much running you do, they'll look at your foot type & fit you with a shoe - good luck!
