Protesting mccain and palin

We were called fools to our faces, but we kept our smiles and held up signs in protest of the war that Senator McCain and Governor Palin would continue, indefinitely, if elected into office.

The presidential ticket was in town for a Kent County Republican Party "townhall" meeting where Palin gave her now-famous and puzzling answer about fungible oil molecules. We arrived after the privileged audience had already filed in, and as part of the large outdoor protest crowd we didn't really know when the event would conclude. Luckily, as we were leaving the protest to visit Erin's dad (teaching a class downtown), the rich white folk poured out in search of a thousand Lexus crossover-SUVs, and we were in prime position to hold up our "PEACE" and "END THE OCCUPATION" signs to the exasperated shaking of many indoctrinated, gucci protected heads.

Quite a fun time. Though, as a nouveaux protester, I found it hard to find the right balance between keeping my cool and ranting from across the street about fascism to 12-year-olds (pictured above) in as loud a voice as possible.
